In order to establish a world-class research base, outstanding researchers from the fields of physics, chemistry, materials science, bioengineering, precision and mechanical engineering and mathematics have been selected from universities and institutions within and outside Japan. At the same time, a system has been developed under the Research Support Division to provide full support for researchers, thereby allowing them to focus on their research activities. An AIMR Advisory Board comprising Nobel Prize recipients and other outstanding scholars has also been established to assist the Director in the implementation of the top-down organizational system.
