Possesses a mission and ethical viewpoint as a professional of the health, medicine and health welfare field. 【Dissertation Review Criteria】 　[ Master’s Dissertation Review Criteria] Master’s Dissertation must be student&＃8217;s own written work that includes the original research findings and discussions in the domain of healthcare informatics, health and welfare or food and nutrition. The dissertation must be a proof of an excellent ability to perform a duty that requires research skills and advanced expertise in the above-mentioned research fields. Master’s dissertation will be evaluated on the following: （１）Novelty: 　　　The dissertation includes a new insight that existing studies have not shown. （２）Appropriateness of the theme setting: 　　　The background, position, and purpose of the research are appropriately stated, based on the current issues and the previous researches in the field of study concerned. （３）The appropriateness of the research method: 　　　The methods of research, investigation and experiment are adequate, and the details are concretely described. （４）Adequacy of content: 　　　Text, figures, tables, citations and the list of references of which the dissertation consists are well-organized in an appropriate manner. （５）Consistency of the argument: 　　　Descriptions are clear and logically consistent from a problem statement to a conclusion. （６）Ethics 　　　The norms that academic research must comply with are followed. Curriculum Policy (CP) Master&＃8217;s course Compulsory courses are set so students can learn a wide range of knowledge and basics of medical information science, and play an active role in the health, medicine and health welfare field. In addition, “medicine and welfare subjects” and “information science subjects” are established. To have optional courses that let the students acquire core and technological knowledge that is necessary to apply to the health, medicine and welfare field the knowledge of information technology that demands a high level of expertise . Brush up Program for Professionals (BP) Changes in the medical data to large-scale databases have advanced due to rapid digitization in the medical field. Movement of hospitals to analyze a large quantity of data (big data), for the improvement of efficiency in hospital management and the quality of medical services has been actively pursued. In consideration of these conditions, the Master&＃8217;s Course in Medical and Welfare Informatics has been reformatted as a program to cultivate work practice skills in this field. Specifically, students acquire knowledge and skills related to medical information and medical statics, by participating in group discussions and on-site surveys conducted during their Master’s course of medical information science, Master’s course training of health information science, Master’s course training for the establishment of medical information systems, while simultaneously master the basic knowledge of hospital management and medical information, through the Master’s course of medical information science and the Master’s course of hospital management. Students also acquire skills related to medical information systems and medical statistics by discussion in workshops. A Master’s degree (Master&＃8217;s Course in Medical and Welfare Informatics) is granted once the student obtains 30 or more credits, submits a master’s thesis and has it reviewed. Greetings The Master&＃8217;s Course in Medical and Welfare Informatics, Department of Health and Welfare, has been certified as the “Brush up Program for Professionals (BP).” We are hoping to train hospital managers, administrators and other staff members by imparting to them the specialized knowledge regarding information technology, through this program and use the knowledge in performing their duties.
