Information related to this project For the purpose of improving basic technology for the mining industry and disseminating the results of such research, NEDO has selected and commissioned outstanding fundamental technology research related to the mining industry under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry from among the fundamental technology research implemented in the private sector. There are no plans for new public offerings in the future. 2. Overview of the commissioned program From FY2001, NEDO implemented programs in the fields of life sciences, information and communication, environment and energy, nanotechnology and materials, and other key technology sectors (manufacturing technology, social infrastructure, and frontier technologies) and completed the programs by FY2007. In FY2008, NEDO started a program in the field of social infrastructure, which was completed in FY2013. Net Operating Loss The Fundamental Technology Research Facilitation Program is a system for commissioning research for high-risk research and development projects that are difficult for the private sector to undertake on its own, funded by the Special Account for Fiscal Investment and Loan Program (Special Account for Industrial Investment), and its operations are separately accounted for in a special account (Fundamental Technology Research Facilitation Account). The cost of the initial research commission will be carried forward as Net Operating Loss after the profit/loss of the relevant account has been calculated for each fiscal year until the profit from the sales payment is made at a later date.
